First of all a grate tutorial to get going with MVC, Thanks.
Now in the Async example i want to make to point. First it will be better if it uses the async & await mechanism not the create a new thread manually.
Second for a async operation better to return Task rather than void.
On tutorial day4 , the viewdata["myval"] & viewbag.myval holds same data at the end ie. on page but they were assign different value
Can you please explain this.
Thanks a lot. Awaiting for the next part.
I have a doubt/question, as per this line "Temp data: -Helps to maintain data on redirects for a single request and response. Now the redirects can be from controller to controller or from controller to view."
When a redirect happens from Action1 to SomeOtherAction TempData should persist but on return View("SomeView"); in SomeView still TempData persists the data, it should be destroyed when it come to SomeView right?? Bit confused with TempData.
Fantastic guide to MVC. Just wanted to ask how the next step by step guides were coming along and if possible a rough ETA?
I work as a tester and I really just need enough information to be able to build a web app alone. The first 4 modules were excellent learning but there's still some unanswered questions I'm sure the remaining modules would answer. (I want a promotion to dev)
I'm very happy, like a lot of the others following your work, to see you are continuing on with this MVC series. You are obviously a very bright guy and have a lot going on in your life, and to take the time to do this teaching series - which is a VERY IMPORTANT area of developing truly robust applications, is truly generous of you. You are doing a great job - we all hope you don't loose interest or get so busy that you don't finish this excellent series. Thanks Again - Jim/Nashville, Tn.
