Don't forget all the Die Hard movies. A must for Christmas.
A 2020 film to avoid: "I'm thinking of Ending Things" Bleak, slow moving, too long and, when you eventually get to the end, (if you manage to stick it out), you are left thinking: Wha! What was that about? Completely pointless.
Still hoping to see: "JoJo Rabbit", "The Invisible Man" and "Motherless Brooklyn" (which is an excellent book).

There are few movies I've (deliberately) seen more than once:
Easy Rider
Blazing Saddles
Apocalypse Now
For those of you who aren't prudish (and have seen the original inspirations for it), "Flesh Gordon" is hysterical.

I saw The Hunt last night and I thought it was hilarious. It made the reactions I have read to it even more hysterical. It is a biting satire of conspiracy theories.

I've just finished making the Lemon Curd to go with the Christmas Pudding, about to start on the sausage rolls for lunch today and Xmas Day supper ... and my neighbour turns up with a plate of hot mince pies she just finished baking!
Yum. I may put on a few kilo this festive season at this rate ...

Going to my Wife's nephew's house tomorrow.
Her family always makes enough wonderful food to feed an army!
I am gaining a pound just thinking about it.

It always sounds nice when you describe food. Post a pic of the full table this afternoon

Have a nice afternoon and bon appetit.

I can't - the Lemon Curd is cooked, and cooling - it needs to go into the fridge for about 8 to 10 hours to "set" properly (and most of it will probably be vac packed for the freezer anyway!)
Half the sausage rolls we had for lunch today, the other half are for Christmas night, traditionally cheese, biscuits, and cold meat in the house (because I'm sick and tired of cooking for the day by then).
Some of the Covid Kilos I have regained - but I'm still about 3Kg lower than before I caught it. I'd kinda like to stay there, or maybe a little lower as it puts my BMI smack in the middle of the "good zone".

I plan on taking the "NY State Approved Driver Safety Training Course", a six-hour online adventure. However, it will lower my car insurance rates for three years (several hundred dollars).
With coffee.

You're going to need that coffee. I did similar courses a couple of times to get tickets dismissed, and they're positively mind-numbing. There might be 10 minutes of material where you learn something. The idea is that you deserve to be punished, one way or another. And if you're tempted to skip ahead and just do the test at the end of the current section, one that any moron could pass, forget it. Some of the questions will be stuff like, "What color was the car in blah blah blah scene?", just to prove that you suffered through it.

Not that mind-numbeing, actually. differently designed than yours.
NY State requires a minimum 5hr 20min course, whether online or live. The screens are timed and you cannot just skip through screens - you must stay until its particular timer says you're done. Now, admittedly, it could be done in under an hour and I had plenty of pauses to fill with other online activities whilst the timers ran down. An exam, afterwards and periodic identity checks (these, of course, easily circumvented but equates to purgery).
(pause)Just submitted my exam, passed, the rest is automatic.(/pause)
Anyway - the setup would make your skipping of screens impossible, and, as long as you're there, you may as well read them. They even had some videos, mostly anecdotal and featuring the victims of foolish behavior (or, when fatal results interfere, actors). I haven't any points to get rid of but it would remove '4', which is >/= all but the most serious violations. Driving while intoxicated cannot be erased by this and you cannot keep a credit balance. I like the 10% off on my vehicle insurance.
Unfortunately, taking the course does not really imply anything like retention of the information, or for that matter, a desire to retain it.
Mostly, I pick up tidbits. I learned, for example, not to hit the breaks for a pothole: it's better for the tires, etc., in terms of actual impact intensity. Of course, if I actually was able to see it ahead of time I'd drive around it.

Hi All,
My user name changed should be enough to indicate I have left/been kicked out of the pub. I now have a paying Gig, I did post about it (had quite an interesting chat with Dave Auld about it, linked to his industry). I have not yet felt confortable about logging into CP while on Company time (mind you of the infrastructure guys is playing Fortnight (or some run and gun game) others are zoning out to YouTube. So I might risk it next year. In the mean time to and all Happy Chrsitmas, Honnakur, Holidays and the rest. Thanks for being there,
Glenn
