I'm curious... if you hate Meta (and their crappy apps / sites) so much - can we assume you already don't use them? If you don't use them, why do you care if they exist or not?
Nearly every response in this thread is the same. I don't get it.
Disclaimer - I don't care for any of Meta's crap either - I don't use them - and I wouldn't care one way or another if they shut them all down or added more.

In part it may be jealousy, Zuckerberg is a nerd that actually made billions, he may be a thieving bastard but he got the prize. This irritates the crap out of the rest of us.

I agree that social media has 1000x more negatives than positives. I could even get behind a plan to kill it all, but shouldn’t we get behind that plan regardless of Meta vs. EU?
Also, where do Internet forums like CP’s Lounge fit in? Might we be cutting off our noses to spite our face? Where does @ChrisMaunder fit in? He’s probably a few billion behind Zuckerberg but he may look pretty rich to some poor Canadian trucker.

In my case because they keep profiles of you, even when you don't use it.
I can't opt out for the like buttons of many webs, tracking pixels and other staff they use.
Additionally because I don't like such threats. They need us more than we need them, so what the hell do they do acting like a prepotent jerk?
