And we're into mask vs non mask and cherry picking arguments.

As always: this thread gets political, it gets shut down.
As to a single dose: there is lots of data coming out. Quebec, for instance, is doing the single dose, and prelim data is coming out. There's also studies on half doses.
Remember that the trials were done against a specific protocol. This is a new vaccine, a new virus, and even a new type of vaccine. There's almost zero change they will nail the optimum protocol off the bat. As we learn more, we'll learn what we can get away with.
And also remember that at the start they were crossing their fingers we'd get a 50% efficacy. Even a single dose is showing at least 80% efficacy against the virus. And 100% against death. It's more than we hoped for.
So don't blame politics or nefarious interests. Blame Science in continuing to work with the data and refine protocols (after all, a basic tenet of Science is to constantly challenge what one thinks is true), and blame health care professionals for pushing for a "more than good enough" vs a "perfect" solution to get us back to normal.
cheers

Hah! Gotcha!
I bet you were all looking for Oz links to Star Trek, eh?
Nah, much simpler:
What antipodeans forefelt became the Federation of Planets? (7)
"antipodeans forefelt" == "AADEEEFFILNNOOPRSTT" and one space
"Federation of Planets" == "AADEEEFFILNNOOPRSTT" and two spaces Which means ... an ANAGRAM ...
BTW: There was an antipodean Star Trek link, or two at least I can think of: Tom Paris and Richard Bashir both served time at the New Zealand Penal Settlement on North Island in Voyager and DS9 respectively.

Ah, so Federation of Planets has more space. Clever

I get that it's an anagram but don't get the space part

Anagrams ignore spaces and punctuation, so I just took them out to show the letters were the same ...

The first phrase (with one space removed) is an anagram of the other one with two spaces removed.

Giovanni Paisiello - Piano Concerto no. 1 in C[^]
A true classic this week!
Last week I found a CD with all Paisiello's piano concerto's in my parents music collection.
I had never heard of him and neither had my parents
Thought I'd give it a listen and I fell in love instantly.
Apparently, Paisiello's operas were very popular in his time and they even inspired Mozart and Puccini.
We all know those last two, but very few know about Paisiello anymore.
His first piano concerto sounds more baroque than classical and it reminds me more of Rondò Veneziano (who wouldn't be around for another 164 years after Paisiello's death in 1816) than actual baroque composers
Maybe this post will make this forgotten composer a little less forgotten

Awesome music! Here's Herman Beeftink, a modern day composer you might like.

I already don't like writing code for the web. Why would I want to write code for the web for the desktop?

Is this what the profession has devolved into?
I've seen coworkers put together what ought to be very simple web sites, and the NuGet mess they end up with consists of 80,000+ files. You're suggesting this is something we should all strive for?

Maybe I'm so cynical these days, my sarcasm detector is broken beyond repair. But it sounds like we're in agreement.
