Musk is paying them for 60 days (Feb 2, 2023) and locking them out of Twitter's systems. This complies with the US WARN act and California Law as well as protects Twitters only real asset - their software.

I've been through acquisitions before. Including one where we learned we got acquired on a Friday afternoon; on Monday morning, people from HR from the bigger company called us all into the boardroom and read out names of people who should stay there for further instructions. Everyone else was told to go back to their desks.
Those who stayed in the room were then given a check and told to pack up. During the meeting, our IT guy had been busy revoking access to company resources.
Different country, different rules, but I don't really see that Twitter employees have much of a leg to stand on.

Amazing how the tides seem to have turned against Elon. Three years ago the fanboys would have outnumbered the detractors by at least 10 to 1. Now I'm seeing comments with like ratios of 300 to 16 against him.

It may be hard to go against those groups, but Elon's tweets and actions have made it pretty easy to dislike him without those group's involvement.

I've got no beef with Elon.
He let's us know where he stands, unlike many others in the power game.
He wants to make Facebook open, not one-sided crap. A good thing.
He also has a vision about exploring space I share.
