I'd also give you a trophy, but lo I shan't. For today is the day my starter word was the word.

Probably gonna keep it. It's got two common vowels and two common consonants. It's a good word, methinks.

Yay! Not!
This is the fourth time I've had to undo Windows 10 update whatever-this-is. It gets stuck on 'Cleaning up.' Could it be because Steam was installed, and a new keyboard since the last update? Who knows. My bet is on the ever declining quality on MS's side.

Makes me think of the song "The clean up woman":

I have windows updates paused until 29th July. This morning when I turned on the laptop, it showed the Dell logo as usual, then the screen went black. Just black. For several minutes. Even the caps lock light not responding. After about 6 minutes I gave up and held the power button. Same again; but this time after about 3 minutes it woke up and showed "Preparing to clean up: 0%". About 15 minutes later I got a working system; no, I got a waking-up system that proceeded to update Skype and meant I had to re-open everything I was doing. "Update history" shows absolutely nothing updated today, but still tells me it won't update until the 29th.
Thankfully I wasn't in a hurry, but that's not the point. Why can't they make things work?

Given how AI can do some pretty sophisticated stuff, you'd think updating Windows would be pretty easy in comparison...
Maybe this is what Microsoft needs to spend its ChatGPT budget on.

I'm beginning (well, not really ...beginning...) to think they don't care any more.

Or are others noticing CP emails coming in with the wrong timestamp?
I just had a Google reminder email - timestamped today, 13:05 and it went to the head of my emails list as Outlook is set to "Received Descending" order.
At the same time, I got a CP email (posted 3 minutes ago according to the Lounge timestamp) that is stamped today, 06:30 and falls way down the list as a result ...
Is it just me? If not, I'll bring it up in S&B ...

I got 3 emails form CP today (all local time)
10:32 - The Daily Insider, 12:18 - Web Developer Newsletter, 13:05 - The Daily Build
Can't say when actually arrived as I have no notification on them...

The latest one I received has the following timesatamp: 13:31 (41 minutes ago); so that seems fine. Maybe Herr Drakeford has changed Wales' time zone.

Strange ... "Daily Build" ones are fine, but your reply came through stamped "07:37" - and they both arrived in the same outlook refresh.
I confused.

I use Gmail so don't know if that has any effect.

if they come thru at all they are always delivered incorrectly for timestamp. STrangely it affects daily news far more than other emails from CP.
To err is human to really elephant it up you need a computer
