1. The lounge is for the CodeProject community to discuss things of interest to the community, and as a place for the whole community to participate. It is, first and foremost, a respectful meeting and discussion area for those wishing to discuss the life of a Software developer.
The #1 rule is: Be respectful of others, of the site, and of the community as a whole.
2. Technical discussions are welcome, but if you need specific programming question answered please use Quick Answers[^], or to discussion your programming problem in depth use the programming forums[^]. We encourage technical discussion, but this is a general discussion forum, not a programming Q&A forum. Posts will be moved or deleted if they fit better elsewhere.
3. No sys-admin, networking, "how do I setup XYZ" questions. For those use the SysAdmin[^] or Hardware and Devices[^] forums.
4. No politics (including enviro-politics[^]), no sex, no religion. This is a community for software development. There are plenty of other sites that are far more appropriate for these discussions.
5. Nothing Not Safe For Work, nothing you would not want your wife/husband, your girlfriend/boyfriend, your mother or your kid sister seeing on your screen.
6. Any personal attacks, any spam, any advertising, any trolling, or any abuse of the rules will result in your account being removed.
7. Not everyone's first language is English. Be understanding.
Please respect the community and respect each other. We are of many cultures so remember that. Don't assume others understand you are joking, don't belittle anyone for taking offense or being thin skinned.
We are a community for software developers. Leave the egos at the door.
cheers,
Chris Maunder

I scaled my font to 1/10th of the height of the screen, measured the "CPU" portion to get a bounding box, and then basically, for the upper half i just based everything off of that label's bounding box.
Then I duplicated it for the lower half of the screen by offsetting it half the height of the screen.
Magic. Same codebase, relatively simple code. Supports devices at least as small as 128x128 and I've done it on devices as large as 480x320
Neat!
There's smoke in my iris
But I painted a sunny day on the insides of my eyelids
So I'm ready now (What you ready for?)
I'm ready for life in this city
And my wings have grown almost enough to lift me

They're tenants now.
On a side note, ants are renting my place right now and rent is way overdue.
I'll get out, but it's way too hot right now so I'm not getting my coat.

With the SOTW gone, I saw some politiking taking place which brought a Garth Brooks song to my attention. I've never cared for his style of music, but I must say this is good (well, the lyrics are phenomenal - the rest sounds typical of that style to me): We Shall Be Free - Garth Brooks

Sander Rossel used to post a Song Of The Week every Friday. Then he went and got a busy life, so he doesn't post them any more.

After fighting with this 10 yo PC that is cluttered and balky, and can't run Win 11, I finally bought the components last night for its replacement. I'm building it on an ASUS MB - my first from that company - with the Z690 chipset. The brains will be supplied by a Core i9 12900KF CPU running at 3.2 GHz (that boggles the mind, as my first CPU ran at an impressive 1 MHz!). For memory I'm settling for a mere 64 GB of DDR5 RAM with a 1TB SSD. Graphics will be provided by a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti card from ASUS.
Hopefully this will be able to run AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS with too much lag. The best part is that, a couple of calls I was holding leapt up in price this morning by enough to more than pay for the new system, so I sold them!
Happy Friday! !
