I see I've plunged from 4th to 9th. I want my 4th position back - I was only a couple of points behind Sacha, and only a couple of hundred thousand behind Christian.

Hi,
Our clients has asked us to be able use VBA in our application.Does anybody has an experience with this kind of task? Can you suggest any good resource to start with?
Thanks,

You have a paid client, but you can't read ? I would suggest that real programmers know their stuff enough to tell a client they are wrong when they ask for something that is stupid. It's hard to know if it's stupid in this case, based on what you said, but it's clear that if it IS a stupid request, you'd have no way of knowing, because you have no idea about VBA, it seems. It also seems you can't follow simple instructions, such as 'please do not post programming questions in the lounge', as you have done, despite being asked not to. Luckily, I expect many VBA books tend to use small words and have pretty pictures.

I'd love to see histograms on the number of syllables in the words of a language vocabulary, for different human languages. Could be quite interesting.

What is the application developed in - is this .NET or is it some legacy VB6 app or something?
It would probably be better to go with something more .NETty anyway, VBA is kinda dead. I'm not even sure it's possible to incorporate VBA into your own application, it might be limited to just Office. VBS is possible but is pretty outdated.

I know VBA is outdated but this is the only programming language our clients prefer to write code with. And when most of them ask you to do that, it becomes priority.
BTW, our application is .netty!
Thanks

So what exactly do they want to do?
If it's just a matter of extracting data from your datastore to display/play with it in MS Office (pre 2007), then all they need is a few hooks.
Ask in the Visual Basic message board, where there will be people who know about this kind of thing. Asking in the Lounge is a bad idea, because it will annoy people who come to the lounge to get away from such questions.

Here in the UK, that's not the case any more. City Status is an honour granted by the monarch on the advice of the Lord Chancellor by letters patent (an open letter, not a charter) normally on special royal occasions. There is no set criteria as in other countries such as the US.

Unless they are 7 down, you can still expect them to make a good score.
I want England to win (just because they are underdogs), things are looking good so far.

Even 8 down! Mitchell Hohnson has a test hundred and 4 test fifties.
His highest score in T20 is 28*.

I want England to win too... but because they are not Australia.

For several years, yes.
Then there was the Sydney test with all those "catches" and I started having doubts. The last straw was Ricky Ponting accusing England of being unsporting after the first Ashes test last year.
Ricky Ponting is absolutely the LAST cricketer qualified to talk about sportsmanship.
Well, maybe other than the Pakistani scum that appealed for this[^] "catch".

Oh yes, very happy!
Just need a couple more wickets quickly and the game will be over by 6.00 pm

How about having a longer match and watching England win a pub?

Not much longer I think.

I knew you would compensate for your no-thinking strategy by usning an extremely technical term.

But I haven't a clue about the rules of the game, nor the meaning of such score, assuming that is what it is.
