Driving on the left is inherently safer.
Just think, Half the worlds population drives on the left hand side of the road, so it cannot be wrong.
As for it being cold, I am confused.
New York is at the same latitude as Madrid, so it is not right to compare temperatures in that way, for if you did you would see that London is much hotter than New York.
As for Air Con, well that is just a way of making money.
Simply dress appropriately.

But by your logic, the other half of the world's population drives on the right side of the road, so they can't be wrong either.
If no one is wrong, then everyone is right... Therefore, I think we should all drive on BOTH sides of the road, to maximize safety!

New York is supposed to hit 72 today. London is supposed to hit 58. The reason isn't important. What's important is that it's cold here :P

Actually, the problem isn't that it's failing to cool the office, but rather the opposite. The problem is that the office is only slightly above freezing, and I didn't pack any sweaters.

By a strange quirk of nature, it is more instinctive to pull to the left when facing oncoming danger.
This Chirality has been observed in many species, including ours, so when driving on the left and you approach danger you swerve left.
On a British Motorway this means you go to the hard shoulder or verge, wherease in those not so enlightened nations that drive on the wrong side, you swerve into the oncoming traffic. Not Very Safe.
On Average London is warmer, New York merely has greater extremes. London rarely gets much below zero, and it is a bigger city, so the heat island effect helps, but on average it is still warmer.

As I said, failure to dress appropriately!

I remember many days in N.Y. where I wished it was 10° cooler.
And a few days where I wished it was about 40° warmer...

Remember that for them that is the right (not wrong) side of the road, this is the problem .

The kids are on holiday today from school, the wife is taking the day off work, and my mum and dad are meeting us, so I am taking them all to The Marcliffe[^] for a spot of lunch.
I have no doubt in my mind that it is going to be Fillet Steak for the main course....

I am on a post-holiday regime.
Breakfast - Muesli, Yoghurt and a Banana.
Lunch - Tin of Weightwatchers Soup.
Dinner - Mixed Vegetable and Pulses in a Stew with a couple of boiled potatoes.
For two weeks the rule is 'No Food beginning with the letter C'.
So out goes...
Chocolate
Chips
Crisps
Cheeseburgers
Curry
Chicken (Kentucky Fried)
Coke
Cake
Cream
Cheese
Crackers
Cigarettes
Etc
The only exceptions to this rule are Carrots, Cabbage and Chicken Breast!
It is boring but necessary.
I am also cutting down on the alcohol intake...It is gonna be hard, but I over indulged for a week and am paying for it!

That's taking it to excess......just go on a sensible balanced diet, why punish yourself.
When I came back from the states, I was the heaviest I had ever weighed, but this is a good thing.......it has all gone again though.
I am still waiting for the day that everyone keeps telling me will happen, where the weight does not come off again....When I first started offshore, I was on 5000+ calories a day, and every year I was underweight at my medical. I couldn't eat any more if I tried, it was just constant munching. The medics even advised I should eat plenty bread before going to bed, as that would keep the body occupied while I slept.

Ahh, I'd forgotten what a good cryptic clue looked like. Takes me back to doing the Telegraph cryptic crossword in the middle of a lecture theatre at university. Not that I was ever any good, though.

If the documentation is that bad, don't bother with it; it will only take years off your life.
There are thousands of things that you can take on for free-time exploration; why not pick one that doesn't have such a huge and pointless obstacle in front of it?
Don't encourage destructive and annoying practices!
