If you don't have a mirror just look into the glass, then drink with eyes open to be safe.

No, just find a person named Yore and watch them drink.

If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

I thought it meant you have to make sure you can see the bottom of the glass.

So only the clear stuff, right?

Or, if you can't see the bottom of the glass, you just have to empty the glass somehow.

Some weeks ago I switched from VS 2010 Pro to VS 2013 Community Edition. While project-loading is a lot faster and compiling a fair bit faster, the syntax highlighting of user types seems to be a bit "slug brained" compared to VS 2010. Apparently it doesn't work at all after loading a non-compiled solution until after compilation and sometimes even when loading a compiled solution it will only kick in when I force a re-parse of the current document by editing it. Do you have the same experience with that?

I did the same, and I haven't seen that problem.
Overall I like it, but...the autocomplete of strings and close brackets annoys me1, and I've had times when it wouldn't bring up intellisense at all. Haven't seen a pattern in when it doesn't yet; it hasn't really happened often enough.
1: There's probably a way to turn it off, but I keep thinking "that must be usefull, I'll get used to it..."

Try: Options -> Text Editor -> (All Languages | Language) -> General -> Automatic Brace Completion
Or just search the options dialog for "Automatic brace completion".
Or use the quick-launch (Ctrl+Q) to search for the same thing.
It's a feature that was originally in the Productivity Power Tools extension:

Yeah I've seen intellisense just randomly, haven't been able to reproduce, just quit.

I let ReSharper handle all my syntax highlighting and auto-complete, but even that sometimes just ups and vanishes, leaving me hitting Ctrl+Space to get that cute little drop-down of members. Until I lose my patience and restart VS. I wonder if ReSharper doesn't maybe have too extensive a dependency on VS's auto-complete mechanisms.
