Um. The Greek island starts with a 'K' ...

Argh! Thanks for that!
Modified the question (crossed out the original, but left it visible)

Might be spelled "Kross" in Polish ...

That's a pretty hot clue!

It has to be HOT CROSS BUNS
I'll get back to you with why..... when I've figured it out!
[edit]
Anagram of:
Rebuff - SNUB
Diminutive - SHORT
Lettuce/Greek Island - COS

Well done. You are up tomorrow.
I'll give you a few mins to work out why, then I'll explain if you can't.

Got it. See my edit.
Good clue - i.e. Too easy for OG, so the rest of us get a chance.

I got the answer, but I couldn't see anything other than the Cos.

The only part I got was "Cos" lettuce to go into the anagram.

"Rebuff" could be "Brush", which just leaves "snot" to find ...

Well Done! Absolutely Correct.
(Sorry I hadn't seem your reply when I posted my solution)

Rebuff = SNUB
Diminutive = SHORT
Lettuce = COS (as several people guessed)
mixed (anag) = HOT CROSS BUNS

Do you think the creator of autocorrect will go to heaven or hello?

Most certainly, without a doubt, hello.

He probably will be singing: Quote: Hello, is it me you're looking for?

More likely Derek & Clive's "Hello" sketch. ("This bloke came up to me...")
No linkage because it's decidedly NSFW and NSFKS. Google at your own peril.

I am not certain if this is an appropriate question for the Lounge but I will accept the risk. Namely if you could be proficient or even expert at something other than programming and related technical subjects which of course you already are what would it be? For me it would be shooting straight pool. It's a great feeling when those balls go kerplunk. There are other skills I would like to be more proficient at but I enjoy the effort in trying to make it so while missing shots in straight pool is a frustrating and painful experience.

Never been good at it. Everything else you can learn. Math, chemistry, all is available with documentation. In thousands of years, we could not document women.
They are a source of trouble best avoided. Beautifull women moreso. Keep away from Women boy, and play a lonely game, for the bad ones make you crooked, and the good ones make you tame.

In one of the episodes of the BBC series "Doc Martin" it was documented that the preferred algorithm is to devote your life to making her life happy. I once knew a beautiful woman. She was everything I knew she would be even before we met and then some.
