>Finding Out What the Crystal Report Distribution Key is on VS.NET 2003:
> 1- Open VS.NET 2003
> 2- Click on Help Menu Option
> 3- Choose "About Microsoft Development Environment"
> 4- Look under Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET, you will see a 19
> character number, which is the Distribution Key Code:
> Example: AAA00-BB00000-C0000DD
> Producing the Deployment Project:
> Open Solution Explorer, right click on the “Solution Name” at the top
> and Add a New Project. On the window that appears, move to Setup and
> Deployment Projects. Click on Setup Project (not the wizard), put a name
> for your deployment project (make a note of the location where the
> folder that the deployment project will be created in) and then click
> OK. A File System dialog will appear – solution explorer should be
> displayed on the left of screen. Within solution explorer – right click
> over your deployment project and select Add – Project Output. Another
> window will appear – select Primary Output (make sure configuration is
> showing Active) and click OK. This will result in the detected
> dependencies being updated & a primary output icon appearing in the
> deployment project. Right click on the deployment project name again and
> Add – Merge Modules. Add the following modules.
> These were the appropriate modules for my application given that I am
> using VS 2003. Yours may be slightly different.
> Right click on Crystal_regwiz2003.msm and go to its properties. Enlarge
> the MergeModuleProperties tree and enter the product licence key.
> Go onto Build – Configuration Manager . Check that the Project &
> Deployment Project which appear are set to “Release” and the Build check
> box for each is checked. Build the Project. If all is well the build
> should show no errors.
> If this has gone according to plan you should now have (in the folder

> - setup (application)
> - setup (config file)
> - an installer package
> The release folder is all that is needed to deploy the application on
> another machine.
Few companies that installed computers to reduce the employment of clerks have realized their expectations.... They now need more and more expensive clerks even though they call them "Developers" or "Programmers."
I have done it previously but no success. Just wondering whether the contain of the release folder (setup - application, setup - config and installer) have to be run on hosting or place it in bin folder?
I called the hosting guy, he said they dont allow to run it...

I am assiging fontname property correctly. Some rows only havng this problem.any solution for this?
If you r free then reply me
I think font should be available to the browser to show the font properly. You need to build an installer which will install the font, and request the user to download it and run before viewing the page.
every one !!
I have been working on a page that has included master page.
<asp:content xmlns:asp="#unknown"> of same page.
But when same page is viewed in mozilla firefox,
works properly irrespective of browser.
a master page included i.e. asp:content and mozilla firefox.
I am using Ajax Popupcontrol to show a Gridview as a popup control. The gridview is embedded in a Panel.
In this scenario user will select the code (eg Client No) in the autocomplete text box and will click search. Then it will popup the gridview showing records(quotations) related to the selected Cilent No.
I want to hide showing Popupcontrol when the user click on search button without specifying a client no(and possibly diplay some error msg).
I have tried few javascipts but all of them tend to show the empty panel as popup.
Can anybody suggest me how can I achieve this?
Another issue is Suppose a user first search Quotation for Client 1. Then when user trys to search Quotations for Client 2, First the popup will show the records relared to first search and then refreshes with records related to client 2. How Can I avoid this?
I have a page on which I am using the wizard control. The finish button is on third step of the wizard. But i am having a FileUpload control in the first step itself. When I select a file in the FileUpload ,after clicking on Next, postback occurs and the Filename is lost.
I need the FileUpload, not to loose the filename till the last step.
I have tried saving the filename in viewstate, but since I need to pass the whole control in my method(which is predefined, and can not be changed),the viewstate solution didn't work.
I also found 1 more solution on internet i.e.
Manually add the enctype to the page's form on Page_Load()
Hey.. dont add form Attributes, as ASP.NET handles the form itself.
Your server side form is totally different than your client side form. Thus any attribute that you place in the server side form will not be reflected to the client side form. Just like your case, enctype, onsubmit etc etc are replaced by your page when it renders to its own form.
I think what is the most viable thing to do, is to upload the file to the server when user chooses the file and then hold the context of the file in the server.
Other Wayouts :
Otherwise, I think you can embed a flash object in the browser to open files using flash open dialog box. Flash is more powerful in this regard.
Why do you want to apply a CssClass to a string variable? If you are trying to show string (or text) with specific font size , apply the CssClass to the control through which you are displaying the string. (For e.g. a Label would serve the purpose)
