Just hoping you could clarify this statement (particularly the italicized part):

Don't WebSockets work in whichever application they're compiled into? I don't understand the reference to Chrome. I understand if the desire is to use the same library that Chrome uses, in your own application.

However, I cannot for the life of me make heads or tails of the quoted part of your post.
