It needs to be well written, detailed, informative, clear and useful. But that will not necessarily help its Google ranking. So if that is all you are interested in then save your energy.

Sometimes a project I'm planning requires background before it can be understood and/or implemented.

Rather than try to firehose people with too much information in one article where scope and length gets out of control I will post a backgrounder article(s) in anticipation of the article I intend to write that's built on it. It's no so much a part in a series either, because the background piece is standalone. I did this awhile ago with a series of task scheduling and synchronization articles that led up to an article on .NET "synchronization contexts", and I've done it with some parsing and lexing articles in the past.

As an example, last night I published one on unboxing the Arduino Mega 2560+WiFi R3 and getting it set up without nuking it. I didn't want to make it part of my pump monitor article because I feel like people that want to search for setting up this beast should be able to find something about just that, and I don't want to clutter the pump monitor project with getting the arduino ide installed and adding the wifi libraries to it. The article might not seem like much unless you're actually unboxing one of those things, but it's important for the pump monitor project.

What leads me to ask if this is a good approach is a lot of times the background articles will go unvoted on or even get downvoted (at least in the past, but then i had a downvote troll at one point) as if they weren't really appreciated. If I'm spending all this time on something that isn't appreciated it makes me wonder if there isn't a better approach to breaking apart projects that have a lot of prerequisites. Maybe it's because they don't foreshadow the upcoming article so people wonder why I'm posting them. I don't know. I am always after improving my ability to engage with readers here, so any ideas would be valued by me. Smile | :)

I agree with you with separating those two topics, but you can still link the one background article for the Arduino in your Pump Monitor article in the introduction section like:

I did this project using an Arduino Mega 2560+WiFi R3. Setting it up can be a bit tricky and end with you nuking it without noticing, if you want to know what I did to get it safely to work see [LINK to the other CP Article].
(or something like that)
...
continue your Pump Monitor article.
...

Two lines with a link and it gives continuity, the possiblitiy to get all of your experience of this project, but still fill the "people who only need this, can find it" that you are saying about the setup without nuking.

Everyone here has had a downvote-troll at one point or another. I know it is sad and you might think it is not liked or so, but a couple of nice comments or "thank you that helped me" are (or at least should be) much more powerful than 100 downvotes

I think the approach you're taking makes a lot of sense. You could combine the articles, but some people just need/want the background without a lot of project-specific examples.

Thanks very much for your message. I guess the first thing is that it seems some of your projects that were pulled in were in French. As we are a predominantly English speaking site, we ask that our content be in English.

The second thing is that sometimes Projects don't quite meet our article requirements. Although it's very understandable and easy for a Project from Github coming in to just share the project, our Project articles are meant to be the same as our regular articles. As such, CodeProject is more about code sharing rather than tool sharing. So we would ask you to make some changes to the article to discuss more how the tool works (showing and describing examples of that code) rather than telling us what it does.

CodeProject articles have a certain layout to follow, so that users can learn the most from them. Each article attempts to answer the following questions: What problem does this solution solve? How does this help someone else? How does the code actually work? What is going on inside the code snippets?

Documentation/Article is all in english only 3 videos are in frensh, i could delet them.
I checked the content uploaded from github to the one posted here, and i modified some sections to fit to codeproject's article.

well the wiki is huge, can't just past it here or past an example, it's not a small peace of code, it's an engine to draw things, initialization ..., i left a link to my wiki with 23 sections in my article :

Thanks very much for your response. I wouldn't say to to put the entire wiki in the article (though you could), but at the least to pick a few key components to discuss in detail would be ideal.

It seems that the admins explained you why they had to delete the article. Simply look through the message from the administration more attentively. I understand how much it upsets you, but this stuff happens sometimes. Cheer up!
