When I was your age, I used to collection "snusdosor". I got hold of some really old ones, from the time when the lids was made out of metal. They looked really cool! Shiny golden lids..
Today I'm collecting music. I prefer a good music video (mpeg2 format) over mp3s anyday. And the more obscure (read less shown on MTV), the better. From the collected music I have a "to buy" list which I'm trying to chew off as fast as possible. Next transactions involve a couple of Judas Priest albums and the new Rammstein DVD Lichtspielhaus.
You could also say that I'm collecting money. I'm saving up for a pretty long journey through half of Africa. Hopefully, I'll be riding a bus from Kenya to South Africa in 1-2 years from now. It will be a trip to remember, I can tell you that much. Have a peek at www.rosabussarna.com[^]

It depends a little. If you don't want to do the "extra things" such as bungy jumping, etc, then it's quite cheap.
But if you, like me, have an apartment to pay rent for, and only 5 weeks of yearly vacation time, then it'll cost a lot. I'd have to pay rent and mortgage rents. That'll be 8000 extra for two months (the long trip is 9 weeks). Subtract 4 weeks without salary, that's another 17800 (after tax). Also, I'd have to buy gear - good shoes and a nice back pack + other things I've forgotten. That'll easily be 4000 extra. Total: ~30000 SEK.
And I'm waiting for someone else to save up. I have a feeling she won't be able to save up all the required money, so I'll probably have to loan some money to her.
oh well. Some day.

Hmm.. Study German. That's how I became more aware of grammar.
The only mistakes I see in your English are grammar related mistakes. You spell correctly most of the time. Are you studying another language?
Grammar can be quite fun actually. When you start to understand it well, you'll see that languages aren't that hard to learn really. I wish I would have realized that a bit sooner.. Now I'm too old and have too little time to pursue this.

Yes, mostly grammar mistakes and some poor misspelling too but sometimes I don't know how to "build" my sentences and then I get problems when I want to tell something I can't tell!
But there is many misspellings I do when I hit wrong key by mistake!

Ah, yes.. the vocabulary. Easily cured by chatting and reading online a lot. Watching movies without subtitles helps a lot too. The best way is to spend time with english speaking people, preferably in England or America.

You are totaly right about that! It would be fun (and good for my english) to live in US or England a year or two and then move back to Sweden, perhaps move to another country and make use of my English knowledge when it's better than never before and have fun!

I've just started developing it!
It's perhaps 2 months before I started with it. And by the way it's just a project for me to try my skills in Winsock and plain Win32 API programming.
I can tell you that my first release of it will be pretty bad and then I'll do it better. I made som design "bugs" that is hard to change now so I have to keep them!

well its not as if you are doing this to a deadline, so you may as well fix it instead of fixing it in a service pack later on

Hmmm... Been a while since you posted that - how's it going with HotIce? What will it do, will it be a HTTP server, or what? I also like mucking around with winsock
Well anyway hope to hear from you soon.

Hi!
No it's not a HTTP server. I wanted to make my own chat server (and client) so I started writing and it keeps rolling!
I' re-writing some parts of the "kernel" becuse it was too much bad written code. It's textbased application covered with GUI.
Well, do you also play with Winsock? What do you do?
