My "fluid layout" keeps dropping off, and I can't find anywhere to nail it down. Seems to vary from forum to forum, not consistent (or at least I can't see the pattern!)
Cheers,
Peter

It's also happening to me: the number of posts keeps resetting to "25", and the spacing to "Relaxed" from my defaults of "50", and "Compact".

From a previous thread here, Spam/Abuse votes also count as a downvote.
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?
The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism.
Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

I believe the votes are weighted, the more rep the person has, the larger the point deduction.

You think the Soapbox should be a place where members are totally respectful toward each other and behave angelically in their use of reporting. Nice idea.

You called someone a bigot. Don't be surprised that someone voted you as abusive. You could have made your point without being offensive. As it is, you have no right to the moral high ground here. Your post was abusive so someone voted it as abuse.

Please explain for me as a not native english, what is so strange to call somebody a "bigot", I think to remember some much more strange words like this in soapbox.
Thank you very much in advance.

It is a term of abuse, which suggests the the person does not tolerate anyone else's opinions.

You were abusive. I am assuming that is what you were downvoted on. Also insinuating he was a dumb POS would count as abuse.

As I am not the person who marked the post abusive (which registers as a spam vote in your reputation I believe), I can only surmise this was what happened. It certainly isn't an abuse of privilege. The button is on there available for almost all.

You seem to misunderstand why there is a privilege needed to vote spam or abuse. This ability used to be open to all but we found that there were cases where people were signing up shill accounts for the purpose of voting. The reason that a certain level is needed before voting is to put some barrier in place to prevent this behaviour. Or would you prefer we went back to a system where someone could sign up 20 or 30 times and voted against you?

The question I have to ask is why are you so bent out of shape about this? Ultimately, as these are only one offs, they have no real effect and rep points has no real relevance. I don't even bother looking up my rep any more it's so irrelevant. I have no idea what rep I have.

Eh? Those three links go to CodeProject messages that are rather daft eye roll type messages. If you're talking about his signature, there's no link to anything in there, so the message isn't spamming.

Then, if you feel that way, vote it as spam. That is your right.

I've just voted you up. You should get +24 so you are now + 8 better up.
Can you quit whining now?

Looks like this message has also been voted down. Now *that* is abuse of privileges.

Hi, that's me, the downvoter - I saw only now your tantrum here.
Quote: being a gun toting drumpf loving bigot such as yourself Trust me, if someone says that to my face he'll have to write it down in order to repeat it.
The Soapbox is a place for debate, for not KSS posts and even heated arguments - not for name-calling. You particularly irked me quite often with your unbearable attitude and since you went down straight to petty insults I marked that post as abusive.

I'll check with my secretary exactly how many forks I give about 16 or 32 or 16384 rep points.
Oh wait, I don't have a secretary... time to find one, apparently. Hold the line!

It's not just about rep points - if multiple abuse reports are submitted against you, your account can get automatically disabled. Probably not an issue for you since you are not using your real name, and can thus create another anonymous account similar to the one you have now.

Nish Nishant wrote: if multiple abuse reports are submitted against you, your account can get automatically disabled AFAIU it works if multiple abuse votes get to my account (not my posts) from different sources. 100 Abuse reports from a single user would just bring my rep down of (his_weight * 100) points.
And if a post has less than 5 abuse reports it stays visible. Either someone kicks on 5 sock puppets and then forfeits all of his accounts to the banhammer or the damage is NIL.
Nish Nishant wrote: Probably not an issue for you since you are not using your real name I use my internet name (cured with the 88 suffix because 5 letters usernames are too short) since 2000, I'd feel bad abandoning it. For me it's as personal as my real name now.
