I was thinking in a more general case. For example I make a post asking a question, and get some replies to it. At this point, short of the Magic Button that Sean used, I can't delete my original post (or at least I don't think I can). However I can edit the content to something like "Sorry, stupid question", thus removing any direct evidence of my foolishness
I'm not even sure that discussion posts get tagged with v1 v2 etc like QA does. I don't recall if you get a chance to say what was changed, or why.
So, given that the moderators have not done anything to the post, but the text has been altered, is there any way to see what changed? Some sort of revision log, so that others could look and see what changed. Maybe that's already there and available? If not, would that be a useful change? Or would the effort required be greater than the 1 time a year it might be used?

k5054 wrote: I don't recall if you get a chance to say what was changed, or why. The user can do a strike and correct, or another user can quote the text and then there is proof in the other message (have been done several times, specially in the Soapbox)

If the update is later than a few minutes after the original then a short message appears at the bottom:
modified 1 sec ago.
However if it is important to preserve the original I will follow it with:
[edit]
new information here
[/edit]
And maybe use the strike tags around any original text that is no longer valid.

Well, to most of us theye are quite easy to find at the top of the Discussions tab in the menus. However far too many users of the package seem incapable of navigating the site. Would it be possible to add a prominent item on the menu bar for just this system?

There is a big button on the "AI home page":
But I guess they can't see it there either ...
Perhaps add it to the link image?

Yes, I am well aware of that, and use it almost daily to redirect people who seem lacking in natural intelligence.

Changing image and the three buttons are new?
If they are... I like it.
If they aren't... I didn't see them before

Buttons, old, images new.
But I'll give you a hug for noticing.

The email feature was really useful as it allowed people to safely make contact with other members out of band, without polluting the forum or initiating a private conversation on a thread. That way you could go from there to share things like professional or personal contact information and other sensitive material.
I understand why it was removed, but it seems like a simple captcha would solve this.
And yeah, I understand AI might be able to solve a captcha, but I think it would be worthwhile in this case to cross that bridge when it's burning.

Additionally... if it is kept as before, the user can still deactivate it if it bugs him.
Another possibility could be to allow a white / black list, probably ALL or only white list woulbe the most effective. But I guess it can be a bit costy to implement

And maybe some minimum rep (by category?) and/or length of membership. That should help eliminate most of the spam merchants.

There are a couple of us I know play: myself, the codewitch, dandy72, and I'm pretty sure there would be others.
Would you have any objection to my setting up a CP crew with Rockstar so we could all play together? If it's OK, could you send me hi-res / Photoshop / PaintShopPro images of Bob and the CP logo so we can stick it on vehicles as a crew emblem?

Why to limit it to GTA?
We could create a Group account for CP Gamers... I don't play GTA, but I do play other things
A gaming (general discussions) forum would be nice too. Of course, it should be kept clean of hacks and cheats, but there is still room for a lot of debate and at the end, games are software too

I think that a R* crew is across all R* online games, so RDR2 would probably be included as well.
Might be difficult to put a Crew emblem on a horse though ...

Bob, branded on a horse's ass. I could see it.
It would also look great on a jacket. GTA can do it, not sure about RDR2.
I like the idea of having a CP crew.

Boy but the R* editor is fun to use ... It's way, way=, way behind Paint. Circa Win3.1
This may take some time ...

There is a crew - "Codeproject Members" or "CPMA" - if you want to join, send me your user and I'll send you an invite.
