Hi Mika,
In my humble opinion: this would just introduce "merit-badge clutter" aka "visual static," as found on sites like StackOverFlow. I am astounded my trivial contributions there have earned me twenty-three "badges"
I say this with the greatest respect for StackOverFlow, and Jeff Atwood, its uber-genius creator (with Joel Spolsky, who is now CEO of StackExchange), blogger par excellence[^], and such monster-technical-intellect(so prolific !), monster-rep contributors/editors to SO as: Jon Skeet (now with Google, England ?), Erik Lippert from Microsoft, the polymath Marc Gravell, and many others.
I really believe CP's current rep system is well-done, is continually fine-tuned by all the hamsters, from the Hamster-In-Chief on down, and appropriately simple (interface parsimony).
best, Bill

That's a really good point. Didn't think of it that way.

I'm unable to successfully delete this draft tip/trick[^].
When I do, it seems like it is successful, but upon refresh it reappears.

I'd be happy to take care of that for you. May I?

Thank you kindly. I have taken care of it.

When changing from an article to a tip/trick, I noticed that I was still awarded 100 author points, rather than the 10 for a tip/trick.
See Scrolling Text[^].
Just fyi.

By design. We had so many members posting HTML in code blocks, and so many requests to have markups automatically HTML encoded, that we HTML encoded markups in Pre blocks.
You can use <span class=highlight>...</span> to highlight stuff in PRe blocks.

I'm open to your suggestions on balancing the needs of different members. Perhaps another checkbox "I'm using markup in code blocks" or better yet a checkbox, checked by default "auto-correct formatting" which would auto-encode, and maybe do things like convert "i" to "I" etc.

Maybe a profile setting. I dunno.
I pretty much want auto-nothing.

hi,
never mess with a correctly running app!
Can't submit a post. Always says subject must be between 20 and 250 characters (half an hour ago it said between 3 and 50)
ok, ok, my fault. it says 3 to 50 words (why 3 ?) and not characters.

I spent a few hours working on an article, and when I went to review and finally post it today, the draft is nothing more than the initial template. I did notice that the editor always said that the draft was saved less than a minute ago, and assumed it was just saving drafts frequently. Maybe if it gave a time in seconds, I would have noticed that it was just not functioning at all.

The auto-save has not been reporting (or displaying) any issues when we use it. Do you remember the title of your post? Is this[^] your article?
Which browser are you using?

Yes! Yes it is. It seems perhaps I'm just an inept n00b, because when I look in my drafts this is not what I see. Please tell me what I've missed. When I look in My Articles, I see one (unnamed with just "[Article:449645]" on Aug 29) entry, and clicking on the Edit icon still shows just the template article for me. Is this not the correct way?
And thank you so much!

I don't remember exactly what was that, but I checked a profile which was having this button just below profile picture. Then I check if my profile is having it. Yes, it had the same. I wondered why would I like to log off some other user. I could see that button on every profile. I just checked your profile Chris (mid=1) and clicked that button. Sorry, if you logged off from anywhere. Now that button is disappeared. It is not there even in my profile.
Can you tell me what was that? A bug?!

This 'button' appears on my profile page and any of the "Who's Who" listing pages. It seems that once you click it, it disappears though I've no idea what action may have been performed. It eventually shows up again when you start a new session back at CP (I think).

Browsing QA/unanswered, this post[^] is attributed to "Wes Aday posted 46 mins ago". That's far too dumb a question for someone of Wes' standing, and when I look at it, it isn't his.
I also notice from time to time questions with a blank poster/updater. I had put this down to HTML sanitisation (people with funny HTML in their names) but maybe it's all bent.

To add some more info...
It now has an answer, and so it is appearing in the "Active" tab. To the right of it, I see "updated 20 mins ago". All the other questions have a username preceeding that text (e.g., "mostwanted4 updated 10 mins ago"), but this question does not.
