Search for *, and it will return all messages in descending date order. We can do it two ways: either anything posted since your last visit (inaccurate but do-able), or we track every time you click to open a message and store that as "read". So thousands of records for 10s of millions of members. Again, do-able but it's a lot of storage and processing (though Redis can probably do this quickly). We did have a filter (which is still in the code) which would restrict the message list to a date subset. That could be used to filter messages to those posted since your last visit. I'd be curious to find out how many members have the option for IPv6 addressing from their local provider, and where they're located. On a similar note, no ISP here offers IMAP4 for email, despite significant advantages. Where is it offered, and by what providers? Will Rogers never met me.
